I guess most of the people in Singapore or the people who know Singapore well will know what is The Coffee Connoisseur (TCC). I like the way they present their food, is a good art way and also with nice fine coffee. The dessert and coffee they made is really delicious and taste good. Is really recommended for you to try it when you are in Singapore.

Sunrise at Gelugor Fishing Village, Penang

On Sunday 3th of January 2010, is our last day of visiting Penang as we were there for 3 days 2 night. We wake up at 5.00am and get ready at 6.00am to catch the sunrise at Gelugor Fishing Village, as we 1st stop at Chew Jetty but I notice that place is not so good for shooting sunrise then we change to Gelugor. Although we unable to see the sun as the cloud is blocking all the way but still able to see some of the nice scenery there in the morning.

I also would like to thanks Lu Yee for bringing us to the location and also thanks to her for the whole journey trip in Penang with her good hospitality. Really 1st class treat from her. Also to Ian friends Kuan Loon for fetching us around Penang as well. Really nice to know them. ;)

On 18th-21st of December 2009, me and my friend had a short holiday at Singapore as my mission is to photograph Singapore Night scenery and also to buy a new Lowepro camera bag for myself.

On Sunday 8th of November 2009, we follow Vincent Lim who is a WPJA Photographer to Cameron Highlands for his portfolio shooting as we just follow just for fun and hope to learn something from him. It was a great outing as there is about 9 of us going there.

Below are the picture taken on that day but most of the pose is direct by Vincent as we just snap for fun and also the make-up is professional done by Wayne Hooi.

I always like Christmas a lot but somehow don't know why every Christmas is going to happen something bad to me. Maybe Christmas is not a lucky season for me. This year I don't know what's going to happen next but hopefully nothing bad happen again.

Today go to Pavilion to shop some gift for my friend who newly wedding and just try to snap shot around the beautiful deco in Pavilion.

Gunung Berinchang & Mossy Forest or call it as Gunung Irau is located in Cameron Highlands near the Sungai Palas Boh Tea Farm. It really recommend for you go to early in the morning around that area as you can watch sunrise plus with beautiful tea farm. Is really refreshing with all the greens around you.

Didn't take much photos on the mossy forest site as too busy trekking in and was dirty all over with mud. Is really beautiful inside there with some say it got The Lord of the Ring feel as I quite agree with it. After few mountain me and my friend trek this is still 1 of my favourite place.

Barossa Valley is located at South Australia where is the wine-producing region, really thanks to Hai Wei for bringing us to such an interesting wine tour around Barossa. We had a wonderful time on tasting and buying some wine there. Although a bit disappointed unable to see the real grape growing as still not the season yet but still ok as able to taste some fine wine.

Little kids smile is always adorable. When they smile at me, sure I will smile back with them and are you the same when they do that to you? Don't you think it makes you happy back when you are sad.

When I was in Sydney, I saw this group of school kids having their outdoor trip around Botanic Park near the Opera House. They bring their own food for picnic purpose. Even they are still kids but they still know how to behave them self.

On Sunday 12th of July 2009, I just wanted to go somewhere to practice my photo shooting skill. So I end up going to my all time favorite place that is KLCC. Actually my planning is to go Klang India Street at 1st but I was so tired on Saturday as I had a sleepless night on Friday because of too much coffee and tea.

Flora & Fauna in Pine Tree Hill

On 4th of July 2009 is a trip for me, YS, Chua and Sim going up to Fraser Hill to climb Pine Tree Hill. It was a trail that takes us 6 hour to trek up and down. The height for this hill is 1448m/4750ft and 5km long.

Is really a nice experience to trek at Pine Tree Hill as the weather is cold and fresh. A lot of different flora & fauna you can see there but is a bit disappointed as I unable to notice any pine tree up there but YS say he did saw one.

Bukit Kutu @ Kuala Kubu Bharu

On Saturday 30th of May 2009, 10 of us going to Bukit Kutu for a trekking journey and some for photography journey. We start our journey at YS house and having some breakfast at Subang SS15 area.

We start to drive from Subang to Kuala Kubu Bharu at 8am and arrive in Kuala Kubu Bharu around 9.30am. We stop at Kubu Bharu Dam and is for my second time there. We start trekking up to Bukit Kutu at around 10.30am.

It took us about 4 hours to reach the peak and 2 hours to reach back to bottom. We need to cross about 2 big river and 2 small river before we heading up to the hill and beware as it has many misleading road heading up to Bukit Kutu and also a lot of leeches.

Pisang Waterfall

On Sunday 24th of May, me and few of the friends going to Pisang Waterfall at old Gombak Road. It just nearby the Jungle Lodge where you can park your car then trek in to the Pisang Fall. It take about 1 hour to reach the main waterfall and you had to pass by 2 huge big tunnel under Karak Highway.

It was a fun journey, not too hard but quite relax. Below are some of the photos taken during yesterday.

@ YS House for Steamboat

Last Sunday we had been invited by YS to have steamboat in his house. I just do a bit of fast snap shots around his beautiful decorate house. Really like the open air window concept and the way he decorate his house. Love his friendly dog running here and there.

We also go to Puteri Mart at Puchong to purchase some fresh vegetable and steamboat ingredient. Also YS effort by preparing some delicious steamboat soup by him earlier for us. Really thanks again him for spending us eating such a nice meal.

Conquering Everest

Had been reading this for the past few days. Is very interesting and inspiring to read their experience on how they conquer mount everest, the highest mountain in the world and how many people have risk their life for it..

But there is still a question in my mind on why people do that just to reach the peak?

Is this beauty about your passion or just want to prove to yourself you can do it?

If for me personally, I just wanted to see the beauty of the other side of the world and I still a have target to go Everest Base Camp on year 2012. Hopefully I will have a chance to do it and able can make it.

Sepang Gold Coast @ Bagan Lalang

Me & my colleague with the total of 6 of us going for a day trip from Tanjung Sepat to Bukit Jugra, Banting then to Sepang Gold Coast @ Bagan Lalang. But this post will mainly focus on the Bagan Lalang photos that I took during last saturday.

It was a surprise as how much has change in Bagan Lalang and the beach is cleaner if compare to Morib or Port Dickson, maybe because of the development on Sepang Gold Coast as they clean up that area. It was a beautiful place for you to see sunset or to have recreation trip with your family & friends there.

Kanchanaburi, Thailand

During our visit to Thailand, this is our second tour to go out from busy city life in Bangkok to Kanchanaburi. We book our tour with same agent in Khao San that we go for Ayuthaya as the price is the same as well. It cost us 690 Baht per person which include lunch and transport.

Kanchanaburi is a town (thesaban mueang) in the west of Thailand and the capital of Kanchanaburi province.

For most visitors the main sight of interest is the Bridge over the River Kwai, the start of the infamous World War II Death Railway to Burma (Myanmar),as well as its associated museums. There is an increasingly thriving backpacker scene taking advantage of the chilled-out riverside vibe for those that need to get away from Bangkok. More foreign visitors are discovering why Thais know it as one of the most beautiful provinces in the country with its easily accessible waterfalls and national parks.

Our 1st visit is to Kanchanaburi War Cemetery that is the main POW cemetery associated with victims of the Burma Railway. It is located in the town of Kanchanaburi, Thailand, and is maintained by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. 6,982 POWs are buried there, mostly British and Dutch.

Our second place would be the famous The Kanchanaburi War Cemetery Bridge over the River Kwai. It was a part of the infamous Death Railway to Burma, constructed by POWs working for the Japanese in hellish conditions during World War 2.

Just nearby the bridge it was also located the Art Gallery and War Museum about what happening in the past during the War time in Kanchanaburi.

After River Kwai Bridge, we had our lunch at the nearby river in about 20 minutes drive away from there. This is our 3th activities there where we can sit on the bamboo rafting.

After our bamboo rafting, we continue our tour to Elelphants and Friends Conservation Camp where you can ride on the elephant.

Once we done our elephant ride, we continue to visit Erawan waterfall but is a bit disappointed on the waterfall as it was not as beautiful as we though maybe we didn't have enough time to reach the main stream as shown by the photos it was very beautiful.

Just nearby the waterfall, we were given a chance to sit in the train to reach the the infamous Death Railway. It was 415 km long Burma-Thailand railway and was build during World War II.

On 8pm, we reach back to Bangkok in Khao San road. We were so tired as this journey is longer compare to Ayuthaya although it just take 1 day. Overall is an interesting trip as we seen something different from Bangkok.

One Utama is having a fashion weeks from 24 April till 3 May 2009. Is a chance I don't want to miss as maybe I able to learn something there about photography. It was a great surprise for me when I arrive as there are almost more than 50 photographer and when the time I register for the passes to stand on the podium area for shooting I was on number 61 and the number keep growing.This is the 1st time I saw so many photographer gather together in this event. As this show the growing of interest people on photography in Malaysia.

During the shooting, I was a bit disappointed as never really make good use of the LED background and mostly the picture is just portrait images. It makes the out come look all almost the same. I also able to learn something from some of the senior there as they are very friendly to share their idea and thought in photography. Also making some new friend there as well in the same interest as me.

On Saturday 25 April 2009, me and a group of hiking friend plan to go to Chiling Waterfall at Kuala Kubu Bharu for some relaxation after so many mountain trekking trip, although Chiling Waterfall also needed to track and cross some river before can reach the main stream but it only take 1 and the half hour to reach and no uphill or downhill.

We start our journey at 7am but ended up going back home at 9pm as we almost lost for 2 to 3 times when on our way to Kubu Bharu and also finding the right direction to the main stream of Chiling Waterfall. But overall it was a great and satisfied journey for everyone as we enjoy it. ;)

Today wake up at 5am to go hiking in Gunung Datuk at Seremban. About 12 of us going there and it take about 1 and the half hours to reach peak and also come down. It was a beautiful forest and is worth going but is a bit tired.

Today the weather wasn't that good and is a bit cloudy when we reach peak. Only able to took some nice photos while on the way trekking up.

Sungai Lembing Town

Sungai Lembing is located in 42 km northwest of Kuantan in Pahang, Malaysia. It was once famous for its tin mining industry in year 1891. Today the town of Sg Lembing is in decline although it was once the richest town in Pahang, known as El Dorado of the East.

Although it was a quiet town but for me personally is still a lot of activities going on and also a tourist attraction place for its Bukit Panorama, Rainbow Waterfall and the famous food of Sg Lembing that is Lembing Noodle. I will post the photos later and most of the picture below are about their town.

On Saturday 28 March 2009, I try to go Mid Valley to visit the exhibition call DCIM where most about the Digital Camera Fair and also model search. A bit disappointed on the event as very less thing they show and sell but the models shooting experience there was fun.

Som Tam

This is another popular Thai cuisine we had try in Bangkok, is call Som Tam. Is make with papaya, beans, chili and lime. It is consider a famous Thai salad. Most of them taste sour and spicy as it will make you very appetizing to eat it.

It is recommended by Yishu as he keep on told us is very nice and a lot of people queuing up waiting for it.

Eating Bugs in Bangkok!

After the Ayutthaya trip, we when back to Khao San and guess what?... This time we wanted to taste some bugs! The bugs are available in Khao San, you can find it there if you wanted to eat some.

It has grasshopper, scorpion, bamboo worm and many more insect. Some of them look like cockroach!

Actually it taste nothing but quite good, just salty taste only like full of MSG inside the bugs and already fried till very dry.

So next time if you go to Thailand, just have a try! ;)

Ayutthaya

We book our tour to Ayutthaya at Khao San road and it was cheap only 690 Baht per person, where it include lunch and transport. It was Sim suggestion to us to go to this historical place where has been included in UNESCO’s list of world heritage since 13 December, 1991.

Ayutthaya - full name Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya - is an ancient capital and modern city in the Central Plains of Thailand, 85 km to the north of Bangkok.

A lot of ruins in Ayutthaya already almost destroy by war or stolen by the local for their Buddha head to sell. Ayutthaya is a place in ancient where it happen a lot of war if compare to Sukhothai where is the land of happiness and peace.

Our 1st temple to visit is Wat Phu Khao Thong as you can see the picture above. It was amazing for my 1st impression and the weather is a bit cooler and dry if compare to Bangkok. Forget to mention that Ayutthaya is located on the northern part of Thailand, that's why the weather would be a bit different.

Above is one of my favourite ruins among all the temple around Ayutthaya. It is call Wat Phra Si Sanphet, is consider as a residential palace for king. Is a big and beautiful place. Some of the Chedis there is to keep the King ashes.

Wat Mahathat, is a famous trademark place in Ayutthaya for its Buddha head inside the growing tree as you can see the picture above.

After the tour around Ayutthaya, we also stop by to see a church look alike but is a Buddha temple in it, that is so strange. Another interesting is how you cross the river. As you can see the picture above is like a mini size of cable car that control by the monk there for the crossing. Something different from others.

I'm very satisfied for the tour around Ayutthaya and something we can see different outside Bangkok. Is a highly recommended place to go if you are in Thailand and is not far away from Bangkok for around 1 hour drive to there.

Chinatown, Bangkok

Before we heading back to our hostel in Sukhumvit, we stop by at Chinatown to see around. The 1st impression on Bangkok Chinatown is, it was fill with Chinese signboard everywhere and a lot of hawkers stall selling different kind of food. Example like bird nest, shark fin, seafood and many more.

Chinatown is also very famous for its Chinese cooking style seafood. There is 2 stalls selling seafood and you can differentiate it by their uniform colour, in red or in green. For me personally I think both stalls is the same so we try to eat at the green stall.

After our seafood meal we also stop by at the nearby stall to eat some clams and dessert. One strange thing about their oyster and clam is there is no raw smell and taste in it. It was so fresh if compare we eat at our own country and much bigger and cheaper.

After finish our tour and eating around Chinatown, it was late around 10.30pm. So we took a taxi back to Sukhumvit to our hostel and take some rest as tomorrow early morning we have to go for a tour in Ayutthaya.

Khao San Road, Bangkok

Khao San road, is consider an old Bangkok. A lot of budget tourist going there to search for cheap accomodation and is a very happening place. It is also a place for tourist to book their travel deals in Thailand.

On my 2nd day in Bangkok, I going to Khao San road not only for booking my tour to Ayutthaya but also to change my money to baht as that area offer much higher rate. I still remember the money changer name is call Rainbow.

After finishing booking our tour to Ayutthaya for tommorow. We stop by at a classic old building and it was a Starbucks cafe, so we rest ourself there and also to avoid the heavy traffic jam during that hour if we want to go back to Suk11 hostel at Sukhumvit.

At night, Khao San road is a happening place for you to eat or to drinks and also to shop. As there are variety kind of Thai food available there and even bugs.

So at around 8.30pm we took taxi to Chinatown before heading back to our hostel to have some rest.

Suk11 Hostel

This is the second hostel we stay in Bangkok call Suk11 and it is in Sukhumvit road area. Is really a backpacker hostel and really well decorate with the interior in Thailand homestay feel even in a budget hostel. It is well equip will all the facility needed by travelers who wanted to stay in a comfortable and convinience place, it is also nearby the MRT station at Nana Station.

Trip to Bangkok (Part 2)

After the Grand Palace tour, I able to stop by just opposite of the area to have some food as I had been eating nothing since I landed in Bangkok.

The area there was full of hawker stalls selling different variety kind of food. I'm not sure was it hygiene to eat there because there was a lot of flies flying around. I end up seeing a clean stall and begin to sit down to order some food. I was not sure what it was call in Thai, but personally I feel like Kuey Tiau sup or Hor Fun in Malaysia but it taste much more better after adding some different kind of chili powder and sauce. Really good! Unexpected really.

After my lunch, actually I plan to go Wat Arun or call as "Temple of the Dawn". I have to cross the river but I get confuse on how to take the river taxi as all written in Thai words and I can see Wat Arun just opposite me but there is another jetty closer to it. So I try to walk to the nearer jetty.

On my way walking to the jetty, I was stop by a Tuk Tuk driver and I'm trying to ask him about some info how to get to Wat Arun. But he told me that Wat Arun is close early today because of praying, so is no use to go there as we cannot enter. I don't know was it true or not.

Then he offer me to have a ride on his Tuk Tuk as I can pay how much I want to him when he drive me around but in exchange to the cheap ride, I must visit some of his sponsor shop so that he can get a free fuel ticket then after that I will get to go where ever I wanted.

So I agree, as I wanted try the ride on Tuk Tuk and bravely me don't get scare to be cheated..hahaha. It was really excited and fun experience to sit in the Tuk Tuk as he try to cut through the traffic and some more is open air transport.

This Tuk Tuk driver is kind of funny as he like to talk jokes and even flirt around female university student when the student crossing the street as normally university student there wearing very tight uniform. One thing unique about this driver is he keep saying "derr...derr...derr" meaning yes. Maybe of his Thai slang.

I try to ask him about where I can get some cheap Thai massage but end up he give me a name card full of nude Thai girls.. -__-lll.... He misunderstand my meaning.

On the ride, almost half day we tour around Bangkok area and passing by some fruits market where he intro me the pineapple is big and sweet there, rural area where I can see some different side of Bangkok.

His sponsor shop normally is Jewelry shop. If I able to hang inside for about 15 minutes he will get a free fuel coupon. So I just help him as I already get my ride around.

Almost 7.00pm in the evening after a ride around, I ask him to stop me at Siam area as I might meet up my friend there. I pay him for about 50 baht for the ride as he say I can pay how much I wanted to. I shake his hand for a helpful and he also thanks me for helping him.

So another info for you guys who wanted to take Tuk Tuk as your transport in Bangkok. You will get a cheap ride if you go to their sponsor place but you might end up getting cheat by the Tuk Tuk driver so be careful. Try to bargain their price to the place you wanted to go and if they don't agree just take a taxi or other alternative way like Skytrain, MRT or river taxi as sometimes it might be cheaper.

I starting to walk around Siam area as I can see the MBK, Siam Paragon, Central World as pointed by Tuk Tuk driver for me. Everything is very centralised in Bangkok, as you know most of the shopping center is in Siam area.

I stop at Siam Paragon to take some picture on the beautiful decorate by Christmas tree as the date for Christmas is near. Is really beautiful around that area as you can see the photos I taken during that day.

Just beside Siam Paragon there was a small live concert where you can enjoy your drinks and listen to some music. Is really nice if we able to have things like this back in Malaysia.

I just receive my friend SMS as she told me to go to Sala Daeng to meet with them. Sala Daeng is consider a Silom station as well as it was nearby that area. So I have to take the Sky Train from Siam to Sala Daeng. She also ask me to ready a Christmas present for exchange.

I arrive in Sala Daeng, but before I meet up with them I have to quickly go around this area to search for my Christmas gift. Actually half of that area is market and red light district area as I don't know. I see a lot of girls sitting outside and a lot of night club then on my mind I know what place is this...haha. I forget this street name but I only remember it was full of Japanese signboard and I think is a Japanese area.

I end up going to Patpong to buy my Christmas gift. While on my way walking to Patpong area I don't know it was a popular sex tourist area and I also don't know it was Patpong there. As I can see is a lot of bikini girls dancing on the pole and Patpong actually is a street market area also selling variety kind of souvenir for tourist and you can bargain a good price from buying at the stalls. The stalls is in the middle of Patpong road and most of the side shop is those bar or club who has girls dancing on the pole.

I able to buy a silverware like a cup with Thailand word on it and also a lot of spoon inside the cup, so I buy it as a Christmas exchange gift and is only 300 baht.

Finally I able to meet up with my friends at one of the Burger King restaurant.

Base on the itinerary we are going to Suan Lam Night Bazaar that night.So we take train from Sala Daeng to Lumpini station. We also have our dinner there. We eat at one of the Thai restaurant at the area. Food is good as well.

After our dinner, we shop around. But it was not the best place to buy things actually as it was slightly a bit expensive there for my personal opinion although you can bargain the price.

The shop almost close, so we take the train back to Salang Daeng. Before back to the hostel we go for some foot massage after a whole day walking. I was unlucky as I get a male to help me massage my leg as not enough female massager. It feels like my nails going to tore off and somemore he punch my leg...Damn!!!...but the massage was cheap and only cost us 200 baht per person but not a good 1st experience for me.

After massage we back to our hostel to get some sleep as we have more activities for tomorrow.

Trip to Bangkok (Part 1)

I have to delay about 3 days before heading back to Bangkok as I unable renew my passport during weekend. I also have to buy a new air ticket to Bangkok as well, really bad luck :(

At 5.00am in the morning I have to ready as my flight is around 7.50am and thanks to Cally helping me calling her uncle who is a taxi driver to fetch me to LCCT. Even in the early morning the airport was full of people and so busy.

During my flight I was able to meet up with Mr Rashid Ismail who sit next to me. Well, he is a really nice person to chat with and if you are into golf in Malaysia you will sure know who he is as he is a professional full time golfer.

We chat a lot about golf sports in Malaysia and how he start to play golf in the young age. Is really a good experience to chat with him but i forget to take a picture with him, so I just found this picture of him in the net. He is going to Bangkok as well for a golf tournament.

Around 8.55am Bangkok time, I arrive at Suvarnabhumi International Airport. I was lucky also as I able to land in Bangkok because last few weeks there is a big protest on people on Thailand to the government as I think you all know the news.

I was amaze by the airport as it was fully decorate with some Thai God Sculpture and also some nice art picture as you can see the pic above.

Here are some good information for those who travel to Bangkok and wanted to save some money on the taxi. You can go up to the Departure Hall to take taxi as it was cheaper compare to buying the limo ticket on the Arrival Hall. As it was counted by meter and some you can bargain the price. Beware of those people who approach you for taxi on the departure hall as they will charge you very high price. Choose to queue up rather then follow them. The taxi cost around 300 to 500 baht to arrive in Bangkok city.

I arrive at the hostel at Rama 4 Street in Bangkok that booked by my friend who come earlier but too bad I'm too late to join them for the floating market. "Take a Nap" is this hostel name. Is really a highly recommended place as it was not only cheap but also the room is clean and well furnished. The staff there is also very friendly and willing to help you if you need some info about tour in Bangkok.

I put down my luggage bag in the room and started to walk around myself around Rama 4 street and also around Silom road as it was nearby the hostel only. My 1st impression on Bangkok really good and interesting. I also found an interesting McDonald mascot with Thai people sign, you will see a lot in Bangkok. There is a lot of market place around Silom area as every street I walk through sure will have a market there.

I also found King Rama IX statue there. I'm waiting for my friend sms as to see whether I can join them but end up they are going to Siam area for shopping. So I decided to go Grand Palace myself as they already been there before and I will meet them again on night time for dinner.

I take a meter taxi to Grand Palace from Silom and remember always take a meter taxi rather than non-meter as they will charge you higher, is more safer to take meter as you won't get cheated.

For those who wanted to enter Grand Palace always remember this "(For ladies, no short pant or skirt, skirt must long enough to cover nee at least. Guys not allowed to wear short pant/slipper.)" but you also can rent a batik to cover your legs if you are wearing skirts or shorts.

Grand Palace is really a amazing place to look around and is just next to Chao Phraya river. As you can see a lot of gold monument or some precious stone on the palace wall. Very interesting architecture.

After walking so hot in the sun, is time to have some cold and nice drinks. Picture above show that a drinks produce by Thai itself as it has mango, lychee and coconut taste. It was sell in the Grand Palace area. Is really nice and refreshing.

After the Grand Palace you walk next to it is was Chakri Mahaprasad Hall and is a museum inside that stall a lot of old weapon.

Embrassing mistake before going to Bangkok!

This is one of the stupid mistake I had done before heading to Bangkok, so as a lesson I would like to share with you all and hope don't repeat this same silly mistake like me but maybe some of you already know it earlier.

Our real passport expiry date is actually 4 and the half year if for international issue but still able to use if going to Singapore.

The story is, on the actual date of my departure to Bangkok, I only notice when I try to check-in to my flight and they told me I unable to pass because is near 4 month before the expiry date and at least it must be 6 months only you can pass thru the immigration. So that day I have to went back home and my air ticket was burn because was bought during promotion period and is unable to extend.

So end up I have to buy another ticket but not by MAS this time but with Air Asia. What to do. A silly mistake I had done.
